TEHRAN- The Statistical Center of Iran announced that the inflation rate for the 12-month period ended on the last day of the seventh Iranian calendar month of Mehr (October 22) compared to the same period in the previous year hit 8.2 percent.

The figure shows 0.2 percent rise from the inflation rate for the 12-month period ended on the last day of the sixth Iranian calendar month of Shahrivar (September 22), IRNA reported on Tuesday. 

The center put the point-to-point inflation rate at 8.7 percent, indicating 0.6 percent growth from the previous 12-month period. 

Point-to-point inflation rate stood at 8.6 percent in the urban areas and 9.1 percent in the rural areas with 0.6 percent and 0.8 percent rise, respectively.
